LaKevin "8Ball" DeBruce

LaKevin R. DeBruce, born on February 19, 2001, was destined for a life intertwined with the sport of football. From the earliest stages of his existence, a football was a constant companion, signaling the beginning of a journey marked by unwavering dedication and passion. These foundational elements not only fueled his on-field pursuits but also served as a driving force in various aspects of his life.

Beyond the football field, LaKevin's academic prowess was evident as he pursued a degree in Exercise Science at LaGrange College, with a specialized focus on Sports Performance and Coaching. His commitment to excellence extended to the classroom, where he consistently excelled, showcasing a well-rounded dedication to both athletic and academic pursuits.

In the realm of football, LaKevin's leadership qualities shone brightly as he assumed the role of Team Captain during his senior season. This elevated responsibility underscored not only his athletic prowess, but also his ability to inspire and guide his teammates towards success. His impact on the Team transcended mere statistics, leaving an indelible mark on the collective spirit and performance.

Outside the structured confines of academia and athletics, LaKevin was a beacon of positivity and inspiration to those around him. Our Vision

The overarching vision of The Ball Out 8 Foundation is to proactively raise awareness regarding the issue of gun violence within the African-American community while concurrently promoting higher education programs. This vision is strategically pursued through targeted initiatives across various social media platforms, community outreach endeavors, and engaging social events.

Our Mission

The core mission of The Ball Out 8 Foundation is centered around affording young adults, teenage males, and children the invaluable opportunity to pursue their football aspirations without the encumbrance of financial barriers associated with higher education. In furtherance of this mission, the foundation actively seeks financial support from donors and sponsors, utilizing these resources to facilitate the provision of camps, scholarships, and awareness events. These initiatives are specifically designed to benefit and empower the youth and young adult community, fostering an environment conducive to personal and educational growth.
